"Bouquet for Boguet" is an illustration that was inspired by a demonologist, Henry Boguet, and his work Discours exécrable des Sorciers,—he writes of the proper procedure for trying a suspected witch. The illustration presents two women wearing flower crowns containing various poisonous flowers (hemlock, oleander, foxglove, yew branches, wisteria, belladonna, datura, columbine). Fireflies, a symbol for illumination and self-discovery, are set aglow in the forefront.
